AS A SENIOR (2018): Game-by-Game Statistics
Played in all 20 games, and started 16...third on the team with five goals, and second with 10 assists...his 20 points ranked him second on the squad...was also second in shots on goal...placed third in the Horizon League in points, with 13 in league matches...third in assists and fifth in goals in the conference...scored two goals against Oakland...contributed two assists against IUPUI...had his second brace of the season, and added an assist, against Detroit Mercy...chipped in two assists against Milwaukee...had a career high and UIC postseason record three assists in the Horizon League championship against Wright State.

…played in the team’s final 16 games of the season…started the first nine games of his Flames career, and became an important sub down the stretch…registered two goals, with both coming in the Horizon League tournament…scored against Cleveland State in the semifinals on a breakaway…sent a rebound into the net for the game-winner against Green Bay in the championship…had two assists on the season…attempted 23 shots, nine of which went on goal.

PREP/PERSONAL: Markell finished up his two-year career at Lewis & Clark Community College with 43 starts, 20 goals and 13 assists while being named to the 2016 NJCAA All-Region team.  His efforts helped the Trailblazers to their most successful season in school history, earning a spot at the 2015 NJCAA National Championships.  On the club side, the Toronto, Canada native has played for Sigma FC, a renowned Canadian club that has a strong history of developing collegiate and professional players.
