In the Fall of 2019, the University of Illinois-Chicago Women’s Soccer program shattered ALL TEAM records! 
 
With a new staff being hired in the Spring of 2019, an immediate impact was made seeing UIC Women’s Soccer play in the Horizon League Championship match for a chance to go to the NCAA Tournament.  Head Coach Tom Anagnost was named Horizon League Co-Coach of the Year after our successful conference campaign.  The team won seven matches in conference play, making UIC only the second team ever in the history of the league to do so! 
 
Player Accomplishments:
Lena Kurz won Goalkeeper of the Year and was named First Team All-Conference alongside senior defender Tamae Douglas.  Emily Valentine and Emma Main were Second Team All-Conference, and freshman Grace Haines and Jackie Santibanez were placed on the All-Freshman Team.
 
A few records to be noted include the following: 
  • 12 overall wins broke the previous record of 7
  • 12 shutouts broke the previous record of 5
  • .658 win percentage broke the previous record of .389
  • 12 goals allowed broke the previous record of 30
  • 0.62 goals-against average broke the previous record of 1.59
  • 6 game winning streak broke the previous record of 3
UIC Women’s Soccer finished nationally ranked in several team statistical categories! 
  • 20th in the NCAA in goals-against average
  • 18th in the NCAA in save percentage
  • 11th in the NCAA in shutout percentage
  • 12th in the NCAA in shutouts
