2007: A stellar season as the Flames[apos] leadoff hitter...led off in all 49 of his starts... U.S. Army Horizon League Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team selection by way of a .357 (5-for-14) average, two doubles and seven runs scored...capped career with a selection to the NCAA Long Beach All-Regional Team after posting a team-high .583 on-base percentage and putting the Flames ahead for good with a two-run single in UIC[apos]s 4-1 win over No. 16 Long Beach State on June 1...was hit by a pitch 25 times, setting a school single-season record...scored a team-best 53 runs...turned in a .483 on-base percentage...drove in the game[apos]s only run on a suicide squeeze bunt single in the bottom of the ninth against Youngstown State on Mar. 31.
2006: Horizon League Newcomer of the Year...All-Horizon League Second Team selection...Horizon League All-Newcomer Team...hit .319 in his first season at UIC...tallied 28 RBI...scored 32 runs...hit 10 doubles...ran out two triples...hit three home runs...had an on-base percentage of .437...walked 26 times...hit by 15 pitches, the most on the team ...stole nine bases... played in 54 games, starting 53...hit .382 (39-for-102) with a .502 OBP in league games...also made two pitching appearances out of the bullpen...gave up a run in two innings of work on the mound this season...connected for his first hit in UIC uniform with a single against Creighton on Feb. 17...hit first Division I homer of his career against Butler on May 13...homered for the second time in three games in the series finale against Butler on May 14.
Prior to UIC: Played one season for Mt. Hood Community College after transferring from Oregon State...batted .280 with a homer for Mt. Hood...named to the NWAAC Southern Region First Team as a shortstop and a pitcher...also picked up All-NWAAC First Team honors as a shortstop...batted .260 in his lone season with Oregon State.
Prep/Personal: Three-time All-Conference selection for Cascade...picked up All-State honors as a senior after batting .360 with 17 RBI...batted .350 as a junior, including 15 RBI...helped Cascade to a pair of conference championships, including a fourth-place finish at state as a junior...played high school baseball with Cleveland Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore...born May 17, 1985...son of Ken and Nancy Schroeder...majored in movement science.
