UIC head coach Mike Dee announced the addition of Matt Morrow to the Flames' bench in the Spring of 2021 as the team's Volunteer Director of Operations.
Morrow, no stranger to the Horizon League, was a four-year starter at second base for Wright State from 2015 to 2018. A career .295 hitter, Morrow was named to the Horizon League First Team in his final two seasons with the Raiders. The native of Richmond, Indiana was named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team as a junior after finishing his season with a .333 batting average while slugging .487 and reaching base at a .427 clip. In Morrow's freshman season, he was named a Freshman All America in addition to being named to the Horizon League Newcomer Team.
Following his graduation from Wright State, Morrow was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. In his first season of minor league baseball, Morrow hit .286 for the Gulf Coast League Pirates, before batting .295 for the Bristol Pirates in 2019. Morrow had 43 hits, drove in 18 batters and drew 13 walks in 41 games in Bristol.
