Travis Lawler

Travis Lawler has spent the past four years coaching at Benet High School in Lisle, Illinois, while also contributing to the local Chicago travel baseball organization, White Sox Elite. Prior to his tenure at Benet High School, Travis ran his own consulting business, working camps and clinics for local youth, and spent some time in the insurance industry. He also had a brief stint as the Baseball and Facility Manager at West Suburban Sports Complex. Before transitioning to these roles, he spent eight years coaching at Angelo State University following a notable playing career that saw him drafted twice.

A native of College Station, Texas, Travis graduated from A&M-Consolidated High School before choosing to play college baseball for the University of Florida Gators, despite being selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 34th round of the Major League Baseball draft. In his freshman season, he appeared in 11 games and recorded 24 strikeouts. After one year in Gainesville, Florida, Travis transferred to Midland College to continue his pitching career. He was drafted again, this time by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009, and went on to play for the Johnson City Cardinals and Batavia Muckdogs.
