Jon Coleman is in his second season on the UIC men's basketball staff, coming aboard in the summer of 2024 as part of head coach Rob Ehsan's inaugural staff with Chicago's College Team.

Coleman recently completed his playing career at UAB, where he saw action as the Blazers' point guard in 20 games from 2020-24 and helped UAB to a pair of American Athletic Conference titles and NCAA Tournament berths (2022, 2024), as well as a spot in the 2023 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship game. He earned a pair of degrees from UAB, completing work on his bachelor's degree in general studies in 2022, and later receiving his master's degree in public relations, advertising and applied communication in 2024.

A native of Little Rock, Ark., Coleman was a three-year starter and two-time all-conference selection at Little Rock Hall High School, leading the Warriors to the state semifinals or title game all three seasons. He was also rated the No. 3 point guard in the state of Arkansas when he graduated in 2019.
