Robo Kreps joined the Flames' staff as a graduate manager on Sept. 3, 2014. Kreps was a four-year letterwinner for UIC (2008-11) and currently ranks as the program's seventh all-time leading scorer with 1,594 career points and fourth in career threes (230).
His duties consist of team logistics, assisting with strength training and conditioning and providing leadership guidance to the players. He will be pursuing his master's degree in Educational Studies.
Kreps was a senior during Moore's first year with the Flames, leading the team in scoring (15.8 ppg) and made three-pointers (71). On Dec. 18, 2010, Kreps helped UIC make history by scoring a team-high 15 points in a 57-54 victory against No. 12 Illinois in front of a 13,000-plus crowd at the United Center. The win tied a program record for the largest upset in UIC basketball history, which still stands.
After earning a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UIC, Kreps played one year of professional basketball in the country of Georgia for MIA Academy. He was second in the league's MVP voting race and averaged 23.1 points per game.
Kreps was runner-up for the title of Illinois Mr. Basketball in 2007 after a stellar senior year at Maroa-Forsyth High School. He finished second to 2011 NBA MVP Derrick Rose (Simeon) and ahead of current Indiana Pacers wing Evan Turner (St. Joseph).
