Biography

2024-25 (Senior):
  • Named to his third consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team.
  • Selected to second consecutive College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team
  • Played and started all 31 games in his final season at UIC.
  • Posted a career-high 8.5 points per game, making team-high 64 triples, ranking fourth in the MVC in three-point percentage (.405).
  • Finished eighth in program history with 227 made triples, seventh in three-point attempts (582) and just outside of the top 10 in career three-point percentage at .390.
  • Collected a season-high 20 points against Indiana State Nov. 1.
  • Scored 19 points in UIC’s 96-83 victory over LaSalle on Nov. 22.

2023-24 (Junior):
  • Played in 32 games and started 30 times.
  • Averaged career highs in nearly every category, including scoring (8.2 ppg.), rebounding (3.6 rpg.), field-goal percentage (.470) and three-point percentage (.418) … ranked second in the MVC in three-point percentage, both overall and during conference play (.467), and will be the top returning 3FG% shooter in the Valley in 2024-25. 
  • Second on the team with 59 made three-pointers, 13th in the Valley at 1.9 per game (ninth during MVC play with 2.15 per game).
  • Logged a career-best 27.5 minutes per game, scoring in double figures a personal-best 12 times.
  • Career-high 21 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting (5-of-5 from three-point range) in a Feb. 11 home win over UNI.
  • Added 18 points in triple-overtime thriller against Drake in the Flames' home finale on Feb. 28.
  • Earned second consecutive MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team citation, as well as College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.
2022-23 (Sophomore):
  • Appeared in all 32 games, with 19 starts.
  • Led the team in made three-pointers with 61.
  • Averaged 22.1 minutes per game, with a season-high 38 at Evansville Feb. 22, 2023.
  • Season-high 18 points at Missouri State.
  • Named MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team.
2021-22 (Freshman):
  • Appeared in 29 games during his rookie campaign while making 22 starts.
  • Finished the season averaging 6.2 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.1% from 3-point range.
  • Recorded his first collegiate double-double against Northern Kentucky, finishing with a season-high 15 points to go along with a season-best 11 rebounds.
  • Scored in double figures in six games, including five against conference opponents.
  • Dished out a season-best five assists in an overtime win at Robert Morris.
  • Ranked fourth on the team with 43 made 3-pointers during the season.
High School/Personal:
  • The Belgrade, Serbia native averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds for Rockstock's U19 team in the NBBL, the top youth league in Germany.
  • While competing at the prestigious Adidas Next Generation U18 tournament for Bayern München, Škobalj averaged 15 points and five rebounds.
  • Škobalj also brings international experience to the Flames, having competed for Serbia's U18 and U16 national teams as well as Sweden's U16 national team.
  • While playing up on the U18 Serbian national team, Škobalj averaged six points per game while shooting 39% from 3-point range at the 2019 FIBA European Championships.
  • Majoring in Business Management at UIC.
