AJ comes to UIC following a successful tenure at the University of Dayton, where he served as an Associate Director of Athletics Communications and Content Creation for the Flyers. During his time at Dayton, Schraffenberger served as the main content creator for the 2019-20 men's basketball team that went 29-2 and was slated to be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament prior to it's cancellation in March of 2020. The West Chester, Ohio native also served as the main communications contact for four separate Flyers athletics programs, including women's soccer.Â
Schraffenberger will serve as the main communications contact for the Flames men's basketball and baseball programs. He will also facilitate radio and ESPN+ broadcast efforts throughout the department, including various on-air roles for the Flames baseball broadcasts.
AJ currently resides in northwest Indiana with his wife Jessica Schraffenberger (married Oct. 28, 2022) and their dog, Winston.
