Danielle Colegrove began her role as UIC's Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Medicine on August 1, 2022. In that position, Colegrove is responsible for leading and administering comprehensive medical care for the department’s 300 student-athletes across its 18 varsity teams. In addition, she has direct athletic training responsibilities for the UIC men’s basketball program, while also serving as an integral member of the administrative leadership team. What's more, Colegrove is the sport supervisor for the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference champion UIC women's tennis program.
 
Colegrove has been a fixture on the sports medicine staff at Northwestern University since 2000, and she has gained vital experience and responsibility along the way.
 
In her most recent position, she served as the Supervisor of Athletic Trainer Services and integrated the department’s medical model with Northwestern Medicine. In addition to sport responsibilities, Colegrove was Co-Director of the Walter/Kaufman Family Athletic Training Facility at NU with responsibility for strategic planning, scheduling, compliance, inventory management, and more. Additionally, she co-managed NU’s Concussion Care Team.
 
In addition to her responsibilities caring for Northwestern’s student-athletes in women’s and men’s soccer, women’s and men’s tennis, women’s lacrosse and women’s fencing, Colegrove held several important roles within the Big Ten Conference. She was a member of the Big Ten Sports Medicine Executive Committee, providing expert opinion and information on all issues related to student-athlete health and safety. Colegrove also served on the Big Ten Women’s Soccer Pre-Season Periodization Task Force in fall 2020 as the group collaborated to determine the ideal training timeline coming out of the COVID-19 activity pause. She has also managed health care needs of participants at more than 20 conference and NCAA postseason championships.
 
Colegrove maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including: National Athletic Trainers Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association, Illinois Athletic Trainers Association, and more.
 
Colegrove earned a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University. She would go on to obtain a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Purdue University.
