UIC Athletics

Vadim Cojocov is in his first season at UIC, joining the Flames' men's soccer program in August 2026 as Director of Soccer.

Cojocov came to UIC after serving as a youth-age coach at Chicago City Soccer Club from 2024-26, working with the Academy's U14 and U17 ECNL teams. He also has experience as technical director with the St. Louis Stars SC youth academy, Missouri Baptist University and the St. Louis-based Lou Fusz Athletic Soccer Club. 

A native of Moldova who grew up in Dublin, Ireland, Cojocov earned his bachelor's degree in commerce from Columbia (Mo.) College in 2016. He went on to play six seasons (2016-22) in Major Arena Soccer with the St. Louis Ambush before embarking on his coaching career.
