Jamie Buksa

Jamie Buksa was named UIC Softball's Interim Head Coach on Feb. 4, 2025.

She hails from Long Beach, Calif., and served as an assistant coach for the Flames from 2017-2024. She played an integral role in the development of Third-Team All-American, Skylee James; the 2019 & 2021 Horizon League Player of the Year, Kayla Wedl; the 2018 Horizon League Player of the Year, Lexi Watts; and has played a monumental role in the Flames winning the Horizon League in 2017, 2018, and 2021.

Prior to UIC, Buksa served as the hitting, fielding and catching instructor at On Deck Batting and Training Facility, and has also contributed five years of coaching experience to the USA Athletics Premier Girls Softball team, as well as three years as the So Cal Athletics ASA Travel Ball Coach in Orange County, Calif.

The California native also had the opportunity to travel abroad to Italy with an 18U team, where she compiled a 5-1 record. Buksa attended Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in psychology.
