Biography

Teresa Aguilar begins her first season with the Flames as the volunteer assistant coach after lettering for UIC from 2010-13, serving as the team[apos]s catcher while also spending time at shortstop.

Aguilar played a total of 167 games during her career with the Flames while serving as a primary starter. She played shortstop as a freshman before making the transition to catcher, where she started a total of 106 games in her final three seasons.

Behind the plate, Aguilar assisted with 51 wins for the Flames and played a key role in the 2011 season when UIC won the Horizon League Championship and advanced to the NCAA Regionals. She threw out a total of 34 base runners and owned 11 pickoffs that contributed to 604 putouts, all while committing just 11 errors at the position and holding a perfect fielding percentage during her senior season.

After her career at UIC, Aguilar coached alongside fellow alum Devin Miller as the assistant for the Lane Tech High School varsity softball team, who won the 2014 city championship. Aguilar additionally served as the coach for the 16u Mizuno Hawks travel softball team.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Aguilar graduated with a degree in Psychology and Criminology, Law and Justice from UIC in 2013.
