A recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, Manuella Kanmegni joined the staff as the Director of Operations prior to the 2016-17 season.
A native of Bobigny, France, Kanmegni joined the Flames prior to the start of the 2014-15 campaign. She appeared in 18 games as a junior and snared a career-high 10 rebounds in a 35-point victory over crosstown rival Loyola on Dec. 30, 2015. In UIC's next contest, the center poured in a career-high 12 points in a 78-point drubbing of Robert Morris.
As a senior during the 2015-16 season, Kanmegni played 22 games for the Flames, while making three starts in the middle. She played a season-high 20 minutes at Purdue on Nov. 19, 2015, while corralling a season-high six rebounds. Another outstanding effort game in the Horizon League Tournament, when Kanmegni scored four points, added five rebounds, and blocked three shots against Wright State on March 10, 2016.
Prior to matriculating to UIC, Kanmegni played two seasons at Kankakee Community College. During the 2013-14 season, she helped the Cavaliers win 28 games while earning the eighth overall seed in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. KCC finished that year ranked 10th nationally.
Kanmegni arrived in the United States in 2012. She grew up playing handball, however, and did not play her first competitive basketball game until 2009.
