Remy Lory enters his fifth season as a member of Ashleen Bracey's staff. Lory joined the program in May 2022 as the director of scouting, before being promoted to assistant coach in July 2023.
In the 2025-26 season, Lory contributed to UIC maintaining a 14-18 overall record with a 9-11 record against Missouri Valley Conference opponents.
He played a role in the development of Jessica Carrothers and Julia Coleman. Carrothers finished her lone season as the first member of the program to be named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team, averaging 18 points per game (fourth in conference). She also joined Coleman as a member of the All-MVC Newcomer Team.
In the 2024-25 season, Lory helped the Flames go 15-18 in the season, 10-10 in conference play and a third consecutive postseason berth, with a bid to the 2025 WNIT Hosting in the first round against UAB, the Flames secured its first home postseason victory with a 63-48 win over the Blazers.Â
With the help of Lory, UIC earned the program's second consecutive postseason tournament berth in 2023-24, and a first trip to the WNIT since 2007. It also marked the second consecutive winning season for the Flames, something the program has not done in a decade (2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons).
He played a role in the Flames 19-win season in 2022-23. The team tied for the second-most wins in school history, earning just its third postseason bid.
Â
Lory joined the Flames after a five-season stint on the staff at Central Methodist University. He helped build CMU into an NAIA powerhouse and mentored one National Player of the Year, two All-Americans, and eight All-Conference players.
Â
Lory was Central Methodist's primary recruiter as the associate head coach. During his time with the Eagles, he was part of an Elite Eight squad and a Final Four appearance. CMU was also poised to make a deep run in the 2020 national tournament, which they entered with a record of 31-2 before the tournament was canceled. Lory helped guide Central Methodist to a 123-34 record over his five seasons.
Â
Before moving to Central Methodist, Lory was an assistant coach at Arizona Western College in the junior college ranks. He led the team to a runner-up finish in their region of the NJCAA, and had two players from that team move on to Division I programs.
Â
Lory is a 2016 graduate of Southeastern University, where he majored in Sports Management. He earned his Master's of Education from Central Methodist in 2019.
