After a strong collegiate career, Taylor Lauterbach joins Head Coach Ashleen Bracey’s coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.

She joins the Flames as an Assistant Coach, responsible for program operations and personnel decisions. Lauterbach comes to UIC after serving as the Director of Basketball Operations at American University during the 2025-26 season, where she played an integral role in the program’s day-to-day operations and player development while contributing to recruiting and other program needs. Her experience at American allowed her to gain valuable experience in both the operational and on-court aspects of collegiate basketball.

Lauterbach completed her final two collegiate seasons at the University of Virginia from 2023-25, appearing in 47 games with nine starts. During her career with the Cavaliers, she recorded 256 rebounds and 71 blocks. She posted a career-high 13 rebounds against UW-Green Bay and recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Cavaliers to an 82-48 victory over Bethune-Cookman.

Lauterbach began her collegiate career at Kansas State, where she played from 2020-23. She appeared in 75 games for the Wildcats, including five starts during her junior season. She also played in the 2022 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals.

Lauterbach earned two master’s degrees from the University of Virginia - a Master of Education in Special Education and a Master of Education in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education. She completed her undergraduate degree at Kansas State in just three years, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Development. She graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Lauterbach was recognized for her academic achievements as a two-time member of the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll and a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection. At Kansas State, she was a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection and a member of the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.

The Appleton, Wis., native had a strong high school career at Appleton West High School from 2016-20. She was ranked the No. 85 overall prospect in the Class of 2020 by Prospects Nation, No. 13 among post players, and No. 13 nationally in her class by ESPNW HoopGurlz. Lauterbach finished her high school career as a 2020 All-Fox Valley Association First Team selection, a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division 1 All-State Honorable Mention selection, and a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
