After a strong collegiate career, Taylor Lauterbach joins head coach Ashleen Bracey’s coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 season. She joins the Flames as an assistant coach, responsible of personnel decisions after being in charge of player development and serving as the Director of Basketball Operations at American University in 2025-26.
She finished her final two collegiate career at Virginia (2023-25), playing in 23 games entirely off the bench. She recorded a season-high five points against No. 19 Notre Dame on January 18.
Crashing the boards, Lauterbach grabbed a season-high five rebounds against William & Mary & Mary on Nov. 15 and in the Cavalier’s Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) first-round win over High Point on March 21. Her biggest game for the Cavaliers came against Bethune Cookman in her second season with the program on Nov. 24, 2024. She scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to secure a double-double in Virginia's 82-48 victory.
She finished her time with Virginia as a member of the 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll and All-ACC Academic Team.
Lauterbach opened her college career at Kansas State (2020-23), appearing in 75 games for the Wildcats, collecting five starts her junior season. During her time in Manhattan, Kan.,
Lauterbach was a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and a member of the Academic All-Big 12 First Team. She also participated in the 2022 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals.
She graduated from Virginia with a Masters of Education in both Special Education and Higher Education in 2025. She graduated in three years at Kansas State, getting her Bachelors of Science in Psychology, minoring in Human Development, earning Summa Cum Laude honors.
The Appleton, Wis. native had a strong high school career for the Appleton West Terrors (2016-20). She became the 85th overall prospect in the Class of 2020 on Prospects Nation, ranking 13th among post players and 13th in the nation by ESPNW Hoopgurlz for her class.
Lauterbach finished her high school career as a 2020 All-Fox Valley Association First Team, Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) D1 All-State Honorable Mention and a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
