Kaylee Koetter

Kaylee Koetter was hired as an assistant coach at UIC by head volleyball coach Justin Ingram in April 2017. She arrived in Chicago after most recently serving in a similar role at Southern Illinois University.

At SIU Koetter was integral in planning the program's recruiting efforts and organizing summer camps. She also handled day-to-day office operations for the Salukis.

Prior to her stint in Carbondale, Koetter was a valuable member of the staff at the University of Tampa, her alma mater, from 2013-14 and 2015-17. She helped the Spartans capture a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) championship in each of three seasons and a South Region championship and Elite 8 appearance in 2013. Koetter was involved in many facets of the program, including: team training, scouting, statistical analysis, event operations, summer camps, and more.

Under the mentorship of three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coach of the Year Chris Catanach, Koetter helped train one Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) National Player of the Year, seven AVCA All-Americans, eight All-Region honorees, and nine Sunshine State All-Conference players. The Spartans were also highly successful in the classroom. Koetter guided the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, three Academic All-Americans, and five Academic All-District honorees.

In addition to her work at her alma mater, Koetter served as an assistant coach for the Florida Wave of the USA Premier Volleyball League (USAPVL) in 2016, helping the squad win the league championship. She has also been heavily involved in the club volleyball scene with A5 Volleyball, the second-ranked club in the country based out of Atlanta, Tampa Bay One, as well as 1st Alliance Volleyball Club in Chicago.

As a student-athlete, Koetter played at Tampa from 2010-12. She was a member of three SSC and South Region championship squads. A member of the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, she also helped the Spartans reach two national championship matches in three years.

Coaching certainly runs in Koetter's family. Her father, Dirk, is currently the head coach of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Her younger sister, Kendra, plays collegiate volleyball at the University of North Carolina

Koetter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Tampa in May 2014.
