Marissa Maeder was added to the UIC Athletic Training staff in August 2019. She has worked with UIC's women's soccer, track and field, volleyball, and women’s tennis teams.
Maeder comes to UIC following a stint with Eastern Michigan University, where she worked with the women’s basketball and golf programs as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Prior to becoming an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Maeder served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Eastern Michigan, working with the women’s soccer, softball and rowing teams while earning her master’s degree, which she earned in April of 2019.
Maeder earned her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Illinois State in May 2017. In her four years an athletic training student, Maeder did clinical rotations with the Redbirds’ women’s soccer and football programs, the Illinois Wesleyan’s men’s lacrosse team, and also spent time on rotation at the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitative Therapy (SMART) Clinic.
Maeder spent the summer of 2016 as a Sports Medicine Summer Intern at the University of Missouri, gaining clinical education experience through her work with the football team in addition to observing, assisting and performing rehabilitation on injured athletes.
