Raleigh, N.C. - Senior All-American Samantha Iuli came within one out of pitching her second no-hitter in as many days as No. 22 UIC downed Ball State, 1-0.

Iuli took a no-hitter into the top of the seventh, and it looked as though she would get her second hitless game in two days until the Cardinals' Abby Willis singled with two outs left in the inning. Nonetheless, the win boosted Iuli's record this season to 8-1 and dropped her earned run average to a miniscule 0.69.

Iuli helped her own cause at the plate, hitting 2-for-3 and driving in the winning run for the Flames, who improved to 10-5.
