Chicago, Ill - Jaysie Chambers' second double-double of the season helped the UIC women's basketball team hold off a late Loyola rally as the Flames won their sixth-straight game 55-49 in Saturday afternoon's regular-season finale at the Joseph J. Gentile Center.

The freshman from Pleasanton, Calif., tied her career high with 20 points, going 8-for-11from the field, while grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds on the afternoon. Kimberly Henry was the other Flame to score in double figures as she tallied 12 points.

Beth Dilling led Loyola with a game-high 21 points.

UIC, which led 29-24 at the half, built its lead up to 10 (42-32) with 11:35 remaining, but saw the Ramblers (3-22, 1-13 MCC) rally back to tie the game at 47-47 at the 3:49 mark. Lauren Sirus, who had eight of her 10 points during the rally, paced Loyola's 15-5 run.

The Flames quickly built their lead back up as they reeled off the next six points to take a 53-47 advantage they would never relinquish.

UIC (13-14, 8-6 MCC), whose six-game winning streak is the longest the team has enjoyed since a nine-game run in the 1979-80 season, finished in fourth place in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference. Their 13 overall wins and eight conference victories are the most by a UIC squad since the 1995-96 Flames finished 17-14, 8-8 in the MCC.

The Flames will head to next week's MCC tournament, March 9-11, in Detroit, Mich., at Calihan Hall as the No. 4 seed. They will play their quarterfinal game on Thursday, March 9, at 3:00 p.m. UIC's opponent has yet to be determined.
