Hinsdale, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago men's tennis team couldn't find its groove on Saturday afternoon at the Hinsdale Racquet Club, as the Bradley Braves bested the Flames 5-2.
UIC's two points came at the top of the singles order, as Nick Bodmer moved back into the No. 1 slot and defeated Paul Craigen 6-3, 6-2.
Ken Howrey grabbed the win in the No. 2 singles match, knocking off Bret Martin 6-2, 6-3.
Bodmer's win gives him 38 career wins, which puts him alone in fifth all-time for singles wins in UIC history, passing Mike Koenigsberger.
Bradley won the remainder of the singles matches in straight sets, while beating the Flames in doubles, 8-6, 8-5, 8-6.
The men's tennis team will compete again on Friday, March 1, as Eastern Illinois makes a visit. Match-time is set for 3:00 PM in Hinsdale.
