Chicago, Ill. - On Sunday, the University of Illinois at Chicago men's tennis team split a pair of matches in the City of Brotherly Love, beating St. Joseph's while dropping a match to Division III power, Swarthmore.
Versus St. Joe's, the Flames won, 3-2, on the strength of wins courtesy of Nick Bodmer and Wade Clark.
Bodmer picked-up a win at No.1 singles 6-1, 6-1, while Clark took the No.4 match over Damon Dennin 7-6, 6-2.
The doubles team of Wil Karydakis and Omar Husain won the only doubles contest of the match 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.
Versus Swarthmore, Bodmer was again victorious at No. 1 singles beating John Thomas 7-6(3), 6-1.
Bodmer now has 40 career singles wins, good for fifth all-time in UIC tennis history.
Swarthmore took the match 4-1.
The men's tennis team will be in action again on Friday, March 8, as Dayton flies into town for a match at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.
Match-time is set for 5:30 PM.
