Peoria, Ill.- The UIC men's tennis team suffered through more rain and another tough day on the courts, losing to Bradley, 5-1, on the first day of singles action at the 2nd Annual Bradley Invitational on Saturday.

Storms prevented the Flames from finishing four of their six matches against Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Junior Ken Howrey gave UIC a strong individual outing at the #3 singles spot against Bradley, beating Will Lofgren 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. Howrey fell short in his second match of the day versus Wisconsin-Green Bay's Eric Hines, 6-3, 6-2.

The Braves, undefeated as a team at their home tournament this weekend, got all they could handle from the Flames as newcomers Paul Glendenning, Karol Zarucki, and Steven Phrasisomboune each played three excellent sets down to the wire before dropping their first singles matches for UIC.

The Flames finished the Bradley Invitational with an 0-3 team record and a cancellation.

UIC is back in action Friday, October 3rd at the Louisville Tournament in Louisville, Ky.
