DeKalb, Ill.- The University of Illinois at Chicago soccer team looks to bounce back in a big way today as the Flames travel west to DeKalb to take on Northern Illinois at 5:00 p.m. The young Flames (0-2-0) look to get in the win column in 2004 with a victory over the Huskies (0-2-0), who are also searching for their first victory after dropping a pair of games to in-state rivals, losing 2-1 to Western Illinois and 2-0 to Eastern Illinois. UIC comes into today's game following a high-altitude weekend in Colorado. The Flames dropped a 4-1 decision to Denver in the season opener on Friday, then put up a strong fight in a tough 2-1 loss to Air Force on Sunday. A huge highlight of the weekend was the performance of sophomore forward Tonci Skroce. The Zadar, Croatia native looked ready to fill the scoring void left by second all-time leading scorer Dennis King. Skroce knocked in two goals and four points, converting two of his five shots-on-goal for a nifty .833 SOG percentage, to lead the team. Skroce is currently tied for first in the Horizon League in goals and shares second place in points.
