Dayton, Ohio- 50-yard freestyle victories by Blake Booher and Andrea Giczewski, a one-meter diving win by Mark Pappalardo and Cameron Seebeck's first collegiate win highlighted the UIC swimming and diving team's dual meet against Wright State at the WSU Natatorium on Saturday.
Booher extended his streak of 50 free wins to 20 straight dual meets with a first-place time of :21.06.
On the women's side, Giczewski turned in a winning time of :25.23 to edge teammate Kelly Hyatt (:25.24) for the 50 free win.
Pappalardo posted a first-place score of 263.55 on the one-meter board. The senior captain of the UIC diving corps also took second in the three-meter event (261.97).
Seebeck, one of the most highly-touted recruits in UIC history after earning All-America recognition as a prep athlete, continued his strong start by chalking up his first collegiate win with a first-place 100-yard freestyle time of :48.09. He also took third in the 50 free (:22.11).
Hyatt picked up the second of two runner-up finishes in the women's 100 free (:54.96).
The women's 400 free relay quartet of Hyatt, Giczewski, Emily Biancalana and Colleen Dougherty wrapped up the meet in style with a winning mark of 3:37.82.
In team scoring, the UIC men's team fell to the Raiders by a 146-85 count. The UIC women's team suffered a 145-76 defeat at the hands of Wright State.
The Flames return to action on Sunday, November 12th against Butler and UW-Milwaukee in Carmel, Ind.
