Macomb, Ill.- Sophomore swimmer Andrea Giczewski and junior diver Brittany Daem claimed two wins apiece, but it was not enough as the UIC women's swimming and diving team fell narrowly on the road at Western Illinois on Sunday.
The Flames were edged 124.5-116.5 in dual meet scoring.
Giczewski swam a winning 50 free time of :25.11 before turning in a victorious 100-yard backstroke performance of 1:01.14.
Daem turned in winning scores in both the one-meter (210.20) and three-meter (212.25) events.
Seniors Emily Biancalana and Kelly Hyatt also contributed first-place times to the Flames' cause. Biancalana won the 200 free in 2:01.06, while Hyatt won the 100 free in :53.75.
UIC will head to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for its annual winter training trip in January.
