Flames Drop Home Contest To Wisconsin, 2-0

Chicago, Ill.-The UIC softball dropped a home contest to Wisconsin at Flames Field on Wednesday night, 2-0. UIC slips to 17-26 overall, while the Badgers improve their record to 18-16 on the year.

At the plate, UIC senior Joyce Cathey and sophomore Nicole Robinson paced the Flames with one hit apiece. Wisconsin's Eden Brock picks up the shutout for a 14-7 record in the circle, allowing only two hits on the night.

The Badgers took the lead on an RBI single by sophomore Lynn Anderson in the top of the second. Holding the Flames in the bottom of the inning, Wisconsin grabbed a second run on a single to left field, sending Sam Polito across the plate for the two-run cushion.

Freshman Sarah Clynes replaced Brittany McIntyre in the circle.

Scoreless in the next four innings, Wisconsin captures the, 2-0, victory.

With the loss, McIntyre drops to 5-11 on the season.

The Flames square off against DePaul on Thursday afternoon at the Cacciatore Stadium in Lincoln Park before returning to Flames Field for a three-game series against UW-Green Bay this weekend.
