Chicago, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago Athletic Department announced on Tuesday afternoon that junior Karl White (Omaha, Neb./Omaha Central) has been declared academically ineligible, effective immediately, for the remainder of the 2006-07 season.

The 6-foot-2 guard had seen action in 14 games this year, averaging 4.9 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

White will remain in school and attempt to regain academic standing, looking to rejoin the Flames for the 2007-08 campaign.

UIC will be back in action on Wednesday night when the Flames play host to #12 Butler at 7 p.m.
