Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's basketball team returns home to take on one of the hottest teams in the Horizon League as the Flames (9-15, 4-7) host Wright State (17-8, 10-2) on Wednesday, February 7, at 7 p.m. The game will be aired live on ESPN Radio 1000 AM.
The Raiders, who won the earlier meeting between these two schools on Jan. 4, come in with victories in 12 of their last 14 games and sit in sole possession of second place in the league just a half-game behind Butler. Wright State has endured a tough road of late as its tilt with UIC will mark its third game in the last five days.
The Flames have been off since Saturday's five-point loss at Youngstown State and are looking to snap a six-game losing streak. The friendly confines of the UIC Pavilion might be just the remedy UIC needs as the Flames are 15-1 all-time against Wright State in their home gym.
Senior Jovan Stefanov has stepped up his game of late for UIC, averaging 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in his last three games. Junior Othyus Jeffers continues to lead the squad in scoring (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg).
Senior guard DaShaun Wood paces the Raiders attack, averaging a Horizon League-best 19.2 points per game.
