Chicago, Ill.- UIC head men's basketball coach Jimmy Collins will appear live on WGN Radio 720 AM this Thursday, Nov. 6 from 7-9 p.m. to talk college hoops on Sports Central with David Kaplan.
Collins, Loyola head coach Jim Whitesell and DePaul head coach Jerry Wainwright will be inside WGN Radio's Michigan Avenue studio with Kaplan for a coaches roundtable to preview the 2008-09 college basketball season.
The longest-tenured Division I head coach in the state of Illinois, Collins will embark on his 13th season roaming the sideline for the Flames. He stands just six wins away from 200 career victories.
Collins' 2008-09 UIC men's basketball team features the Horizon League's top returning scorer in senior guard Josh Mayo, the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year and a collegeinsider.com Preseason Mid-Major All-American, and the Horizon League's top returning rebounder and shot-blocker in senior center Scott VanderMeer.
UIC will host Aurora in an exhibition game at the UIC Pavilion next Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m.
