SoccerTimes.com 2008 Preseason College Coaches Poll

Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's soccer team received its third preseason national ranking in the last two weeks when the SoccerTimes.com 2008 Preseason College Coaches Poll placed the Flames at No. 18 in the country.

UIC, the preseason Horizon League favorite, is also ranked No. 16 in the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I Preseason Poll and No. 17 in the College Soccer News Preseason Top 30 Poll.

The three preseason national rankings that the Flames have accumulated this month are the most for the program entering a season.

The Flames can record a fourth preseason national ranking next week, when Soccer America's Men's Preseason Top 25 is unveiled on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

UIC enters 2008 with eight starters returning from last season's NCAA Tournament Elite Eight squad.

The Flames' first tune-up for the upcoming campaign takes place this Friday, Aug. 22 in an exhibition against Tulsa at the Gallagher College Friendlies in St. Louis, Mo. at 8 p.m. Central.
