CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team defeated city rival University of Chicago on Saturday evening, with the Flames sweeping the Maroons, 7-0.

UIC was never threatened in doubles action, with all three pairs defeating their opponents by wide margins at their home indoor courts at Evergreen Racquet and fitness in Evergreen Terrace.

Singles play saw five of six matches decided in straight sets in the Flames favor, with only one match going to a tiebreaker.

The Flames will be on the road for their next four matches, starting with a weekend down in Champaign where UIC will face Kansas on February 7 at noon and then take on sister school Illinois on the 8th at 10 a.m.
