ANN ARBOR, Mich.- Dave Robare of the UIC men's tennis team continued his stay at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday night, defeating Northwestern's Tobias Reitz in two closely-played sets.

Robare came out victorious over Reitz, 7-5, 7-6(5), to advance to the next round for a meeting with Marquette's Jacob Straus.

Sebastian Lystad fell to top-seeded Justin Kronauge of Ohio State, 7-5, 6-0, while Bastian Harbo fell to Jason Jung of Michigan by a final tally of 6-2, 7-5. Both move on to consolation play against foes from Western Michigan, as Lystad will meet Zeyad Montasser and Harbo will tangle with Chris Cullen.

In the doubles main draw, Harbo and Robare were ousted in the first round by Billy Bertha and Chris Freeman of Wisconsin by an 8-4 final, while Lystad and Nate Kirk were felled by Illinois' Connor Roth and Abe Souza by the same score.
