ROCKFORD, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team won their first match of the 2010 season when they defeated Northern Illinois 4-3 on Monday at Clocktower Resort.
In doubles the pairs of Dave Robre and Nate Kirk, and Scott Shepardson and Luis Gonzaga secured a point for the Flames by winning their matches.
Kirk, Gonzaga, and Nicolas Ospina sealed it for UIC by defeating their opponents in two straight sets in singles play.
The Flames return to the courts on Jan. 29 when they take on Chicago University on the road at 7 p.m.
