EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team improved their winning streak to three straight when they defeated No. 4 University of Chicago 6-1 on Sunday at the Evergreen Tennis Center.
In doubles play the Flames took all three matches, notching the doubles point and giving them the early lead.
Ilinca Cristescu defeated Jennifer Kung in comeback fashion. Cristescu took the second set 6-3, after dropping the first set 6-1. The third set went back and forth, but Cristescu prevailed taking the set 10-7.
Zlatka Petrova kept Chrissy Hu scoreless in the first set and went out to take the second set 6-4 to win the match and point for the Flames.
Elena Antakova, Amy Jellish, and Jenna Reisch were all victorious in their singles matches on Sunday.
UIC returns to the courts on Saturday Feb. 6 when they travel to Ames Iowa to take on Iowa State at 9 a.m.
