CHICAGO- The UIC men's basketball team concludes the 2009-10 regular season this Saturday, Feb. 27 against Horizon League rival Milwaukee inside the UIC Pavilion beginning at 1 p.m. Central.
The game between the Flames and the Panthers will air live on ESPN Radio 1000 AM. Adam Levinson, "the Voice of the Flames," and legendary former UIC guard Kenny Williams will have the call as Jordan Bernfield serves as the in-game host. An audio stream of the broadcast featuring Adam and Kenny can also be heard on ESPNChicago.com.
Fans unable to make it to the Pavilion can watch live through the Horizon League Network at www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv/uic.
UIC will celebrate the careers of its four seniors on Saturday as part of Senior Day festivities. Prior to the game, Spencer Stewart, Jeremy Buttell, Kris Harris and Chris Buchanan will be feted for their contributions to the program.
The Flames are riding a two-game winning streak heading into Saturday's meeting against the Panthers. UIC is averaging 80.0 ppg in the last two games, scoring a season-high 82 points against Evansville on Feb. 20 and turning in a season-best 54 points in one period to beat Green Bay on Feb. 25.
UIC rallied from 14-point second-half deficits in each of the last two games, spurred by big post-intermission performances from junior guard Robo Kreps. Kreps, who has now moved up to 16th on UIC's all-time scoring list, averaged 18.5 ppg in the second periods of the last two games.
The Flames are locked into the ninth seed of next week's Horizon League Championship. Their opponent has yet to be determined, with Milwaukee, Green Bay, Valparaiso and Cleveland State still in the running for the fourth seed on the regular season's final day.
The series between UIC and Milwaukee has been tight of late, with the two teams splitting the last 18 meetings.
