CHICAGO- UIC head soccer coach Sean Phillips announced on Tuesday, March 16 that five weeks of UIC Soccer Day Camp and two weeks of UIC Soccer Camp will be offered this summer.

This marks the fifth year of UIC Soccer Camps.

Directing UIC Soccer Camp is Phillips, who brings over fifteen years of soccer camp experience to UIC Soccer Camp. Phillips, elevated to UIC head coach from his position of associate head coach on February 3, has been at UIC since 2005.

Phillips was nationally recognized for his role in bringing UIC Soccer to the national scene. He was also the assistant camp director at UIC Soccer Camp from the time it began, playing a major role in its 300% growth from its start in 2006.

"We are excited to continue to offer each camper, regardless of age or ability, the opportunity to maximize their potential and passion for the great game of soccer," said Phillips. "Our talented and experienced staff is looking forward to a fifth great summer."

UIC Soccer Day Camp features five one-week sessions that run from June 14 through July 23 with three age-specific options.

The "Little Stars" option is an introductory camp for children ages 4-6 that runs from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and teaches basic skills and fun soccer-related games. The "Half Day" option is available to 6-14 year olds from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and teaches fundamental soccer skills that lead to improved performance, while the "Full Day" offering runs from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for 7-14 year olds and focuses on technical development and tactical ideas through games.

UIC Soccer Camp is an exclusive training program for high school boys ages 12-18 and provides a professional/collegiate learning environment for young players serious about perfecting their game.

UIC Soccer Camp, which runs from June 13 through June 17 and July 11 through July 15, features "Residential" and "Commuter" options. "Residential" campers will stay in suite-style dormitory rooms and get three meals per day, while the "Commuter" camp option allows players who reside locally and wish to commute to and from camp to get in on the action without staying in the dormitories. Enrollment in this program is limited to a total of 64 campers to maximize the coach-to-player ratio and best prepare each player for the collegiate environment.
