EL PASO, Texas - The UIC women's tennis closed out the UTEP Quad with a 2-1 record after losing the Wyoming on Sunday morning.
In doubles play, the team of Mariya Kovaleva and Kristen McPhillips fought a hard battle, pushing their opponents Simona Synkova and Carly van Ginkel to the limit, but fell to the Cowgirls 9-7.
In singles play, Illinca Cristescu and McPhillips took set one their matches, but fell in sets two and three.
The loss ends the Flames six match winning streak and is their first lost since Feb. 6.
UIC will look to bounce back when they host Illinois State at the Evergreen Racquet Courts in Evergreen Ill. on Sunday March 14 at 1 p.m.
