INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - UIC men's tennis standouts Sebastian Lystad and Luis Gonzaga were honored for their outstanding seasons at the Horizon League championship banquet on Friday evening.
Lystad, a senior from Oslo, Norway, was named to the All-League first team for the third time in his storied career, earning his fourth league accolade after being named to the second-team in 2008.
The Flames' No. 1 singles player made history earlier this month, becoming the all-time singles leader in program history.
Gonzaga, a junior from Sorocaba, Brazil, had a strong inaugural season as a Flame, going 5-2 in singles and 4-3 in doubles, pairing up with Bastian Harbo at the No. 1 slot.
The UIC men's tennis team will take on Wright State to open play at the 2010 league championships on Saturday morning.
