AC Milan Look Ahead To Chicago Fire from Chicago Fire Soccer on Vimeo.
CHICAGO- Italian soccer giant AC Milan was in Chicago to face Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire on May 30, and the world-renowned club chose Flames Field on the UIC campus to conduct its training and preparation for the match.
The Rossoneri utilized Flames Field for training sessions and media sessions, including interviews for the video above, late last week.
AC Milan features the likes of Brazilian superstars Ronaldihno and Alexandre Pato, among its numerous high-profile players. Milan edged the Fire, featuring UIC All-American Baggio Husidic, in an entertaining 1-0 contest at TOYOTA Park on Sunday night.
This was not the first time this year that a professional side has trained on Flames Field. Red Star Belgrade and Legia Warsaw conducted practice sessions at Flames Field prior to the Chicago Sister Cities International Cup hosted by the Fire from May 19-22.
Flames Field has welcomed a wide variety of professional clubs and national teams for matches and training throughout the past few years. The Fire, the Major League Soccer All-Stars, the Los Angeles Galaxy, FC Barcelona, and national teams representing the United States, Mexico, Canada and many more elite soccer entities have made Flames Field their home away from home.
