UIC Athletic Alumni Club to Hold Fundraising Poker Tournament

CHICAGO - The UIC Athletic Alumni Club will hold a "Texas Hold `Em" Poker Tournament at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza in Chicago on Saturday, March 5. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit UIC student-athlete scholarships.

Tickets for the event will cost $175 for the general public, $150 for UICAAC members and UIC students, and $1,450 for a table of nine players. All participants will start with $1,500 in chips and can re-buy during the first hour. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. CST, followed by the tournament starting at 6 p.m.

Final prizes will include a seat at the 2011 "World Series of Poker," Las Vegas Experience Packages, a Chicago hotel experience and gift cards, among other prizes.

The Holiday Inn Mart Plaza is located in the Sun-Times building. The event will be held on the 14th floor, in the Sauganash Room, at 350 W. Mart Center Drive, in downtown Chicago.

The UIC Athletic Alumni Club is a not-for-profit corporation, holding a tax-exempt status, comprised of former UIC athletes, friends of the program and Flames supporters.
