CHICAGO - The UIC soccer program and head coach Sean Phillips are excited to announce the UIC Soccer Summer Camp Program for 2011. This is the sixth year of UIC Soccer Camps.
Phillips, who brings over fifteen years of soccer camp experience to UIC Soccer Camp, serves as the Director. The UIC Soccer Camp has grown over 300 percent during Coach Phillips' involvement.
"We are excited to continue to offer each camper, regardless of age or ability, the opportunity to maximize their potential and passion for the great game of soccer," said Phillips. "Our talented and experienced staff is looking forward to a sixth great summer."
The UIC Soccer Day Camp features five one-week sessions that run from June 13 through July 22, with three age-specific options.
The "Little Stars" option is an introductory camp for children ages 4-5 that runs from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., and teaches basic skills and fun soccer-related games.
The "Half Day" option is available to 6-14 year olds from 9 a.m.-noon, and teaches fundamental soccer skills that lead to improved performance, while the "Full Day" offering runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for 6-14 year olds, and focuses on technical development and tactical ideas through games.
The UIC Soccer Camp is an exclusive training program for high school boys ages 12-18. It provides a professional/collegiate learning environment for young players serious about perfecting their game. Girls ages 14-18 can receive this same high quality instruction during our new Girls Commuter option.
The UIC Soccer Camp, which runs from June 19-23 and July 10-14, features "Residential" and "Commuter" options. Residential campers will stay in suite-style dormitory rooms and receive three meals per day, while the "Commuter" camp option allows players who reside locally and wish to commute to and from camp to get in on the action without staying in the dorms. Enrollment in this program is limited to maximize the coach to player ratio and best prepare each player for the collegiate environment.
