CHICAGO- Chicago sports radio powerhouse ESPN Chicago (WMVP-AM) will continue to be the broadcast home for UIC men's basketball games during the upcoming 2011-12 season, after Director of Athletics Jim Schmidt announced a continuing partnership with the network for the third-consecutive season on Thursday.

Through the agreement, fans will be able to listen to the Flames on ESPN Chicago at least 16 times. Adam Levinson will again handle the play-by-play duties this season, while UIC's second all-time leading scorer, Kenny Williams, returns to provide color commentary on the broadcasts. Dave Juday, the afternoon drive-time update anchor on ESPN Chicago, will host the pre-game and halftime shows when the Flames air live on the station.

ESPN Chicago is part of the country's largest sports radio network. WMVP (AM 1000) is a 50,000-watt station that reaches 36 states and Canada and features a mix of national and local programming such as Mike and Mike in the Morning, Waddle & Silvy, Carmen, Jurko and Harry, The Scott Van Pelt Show and much more.

"Our partnership with ESPN Chicago has been a great benefit to our men's basketball program and athletic department over the past several years," said Schmidt. "We're excited to extend this agreement and provide our fans with the top radio platform in the Horizon League and in the state of Illinois. ESPN Chicago has an impressive reach and platform, and to have the Chicago Bulls and UIC Flames in the same radio family is exciting.

"The management at ESPN Chicago is first-class, and we are thankful to them for extending this partnership."

Along with Flames men's basketball broadcasts on the air and online, ESPN Chicago provides synergetic coverage through television, print and online properties owned by "The Worldwide Leader in Sports."

"The exposure our program receives by having our games air on ESPN Chicago is second to none," said UIC head men's basketball coach Howard Moore. "It's a great tool for our fans and recruits to be able to listen to our games in 36 states. We're excited about this partnership, and are looking forward to our fans being able to listen to some exciting basketball games both at the Pavilion and on the road this season."

Games not airing on ESPN Chicago due to other programming conflicts will be available via a webcast on UICFlames.com. In addition, every regular season home contest will be simulcast free-of-charge with live video through the Horizon League Network platform.
