MILWAUKEE - In their second meet in as many days, the UIC men's and women's swimming & diving teams dropped to Milwaukee in a Horizon League match-up on Saturday at the Klotsche Natatorium after collecting 13 first-place finishes. The men fell in a 170-130 final, as the women were outscored 167-133 by the Panthers.

Conor Ozog, Christian Grobe, Vince Errichiello and Mike Greco captured first-place nods for the men's team (2-3, 1-1 HL), with Rodolfo Zuniga, Joel Demuth and Ryota Kuwahara brought in second-place finishes.

Ozog came away with the first win for the Flames in the 100 breast with a time of 59.15, while Brayden Amendola took second in 59.81. As Ozog finished second in the 200 breast in 2:12.42, Grobe placed first after finishing in 2:08.00.

Errichiello had the top time in the 50 free with 21.61 and held second place with 52.11 in the 100 fly. Greco collected first in the one-meter dive with 309.00, an NCAA standard, and posted a 312.38 in the three-meter for second.

Zuniga concluded the 1000 free with a season-best time and a second-place finish after coming in at 9:47.80, as Demuth also produced a season best in the 100 free with 47.27. Kuwahara touched the wall in the 200 fly at 1:55.66 for second.

The relay teams ended their respective events with a pair of firsts, with Brian Sivak, Ozog, Errichiello and Mike Reed taking the 200 medley (1:35.74) and Demuth, Errichiello, Sivak and Reed hanging on in the 200 free (1:24.84).

Veronica Gibson held the top performances on the day for the women's team (2-2, 1-1 HL) as she notched three first-place finishes, with Whitney Johnson, Emily Gniatczyk and Melanie Waszak coming away with firsts as well and Monica Pinkus placing second in two events.

Gibson's first win came in the 1000 free with a 10:40.74 finish, then moved on to collect the 500 free in 5:15.23 and the 200 fly in a season-best 2:10.20, as Kelsey Millin finished in second at 2:11.10.

Johnson took a pair of firsts after garnering the best score in the one-meter dive with 277.95 and three-meter with 241.28.

Gniatczyk led the 50 free with 24.48 and brought in second place in the 100 free with 53.20. Waszak put up a first-place finish and set a Klotsche Natatorium pool record in the 100 fly with 57.97, while taking second in the 200 free with 1:54.96 and third in the 200 IM with 2:12.64.

Pinkus took best times for UIC in the 100 and 200 breast after posting a pair of season bests with 1:04.40 and 2:23.84, respectively.

The 200 medley relay team of Waszak, Pinkus, Danel Voorhees and Gniatczyk captured second in 1:48.35, while the 200 free relay team of Gniatczyk, Pinkus, Devon O'Neil and Katherine Hare also took second in 1:37.03.

The Flames return home to take on Illinois Institute of Technology, with the women additionally facing Butler, in a non-conference meet on Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. (CT) inside the Flames Natatorium.
