Day One Results (Horizon League Indoor Championships)

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The UIC men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up day one of the 2012 Horizon League Indoor Championships Saturday, with the Flames taking home four first-place finishes, including three on the women's side. After Saturday's action, the women's team sits in second-place, while the men are in sixth entering Sunday's final day.

The women's team collected 39 team points on day one, 16 points behind League leader Milwaukee (55). The men's team recorded 16 team points, just one tally behind fifth-place Detroit (17).

"We got off to a good start today," said head coach Jim Knoedel. "The women's distance medley relay team set a school record, and the title by Kellie (Schuh) in the pole vault was a great finish to day one.
