Men's Tennis Faces Off With Olivet Nazarene

March 15, 2013

CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team (3-9) heads into its second-consecutive home match on Saturday, hosting Olivet Nazarene at Hinsdale Racquet Club in Hinsdale, Ill., beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CT). The Flames last faced the Tigers during the 2010-11 season and were able to come away with a 5-2 win.

UIC is back in action after a tough 6-1 loss to Southern Illinois on March 9. Junior Alexander Raa was the lone Flame to take a win against the Salukis, as he captured a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles.

Christopher Cole put up a fight at the No. 4 position, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-7 (13-11), with UIC falling in straight sets at the other positions.

In doubles, the Flames dropped 8-2 decisions at No. 1 and 2, while Isaac Lloveras and Gautham Oroskar held a 7-3 lead at No. 3 before going unfinished.

Saturday's match marks the second between UIC and Olivet Nazarene within the past five seasons, as they have had two matches postponed. The Tigers are 3-7 this season, having lost their last five matches, with the most recent coming against Embry-Riddle.
