CHICAGO - As the 68th season of UIC men's basketball begins to take shape, UICFlames.com will be highlighting the 2014-15 newcomers during the next several weeks, giving fans an inside scoop on the fresh faces that head coach Howard Moore will have in his arsenal for the upcoming campaign.
Getting to Know the Newcomers continues with 6-foot-7 freshman David Ramon. The Madrid, Spain native was highly regarded as one of the top three-point shooters in his country as he shot nearly 48 percent from behind the arc in the 2013 National U18 Championship League. Ramon has competed with four national teams during his prep career and was named the MVP during the Madrid Regional U16 Championship, guiding his squad to a team title. The engineering major was also granted a honors diploma from the Madrid Regional Government for his performance in the classroom.
