Men's Tennis to Host River Forest Invitational

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team will open the 2014-15 season at the River Forest Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12. The three-day event will serve as the primary event for the Fall 2014 season, and will be held at River Forest Tennis Club. Action is set to begin at 9 a.m. CT each day.

The Flames welcome back senior Maurizio Feoli, who collected wins in all four conference singles matches during the 2013-14 season. During the 2013 River Forest Invite, Feoli defeated opponents from Morehead State and Valparaiso, and earned runner-up honors in doubles with teammate Carl Hedstrom.

Additional returnees for UIC include juniors Isaac Lloveras and Nate Campanile, as well as sophomore Hedstrom who holds a career record of four wins in doubles play. In 2013, contributing to the Flames fourth-place finish were Lloveras who placed second in his singles flight, and teammate Campanile who grabbed third-place in doubles play.

UIC will go head-to-head against seven teams during the three-days of competition. Teams contending include: Belmont, Butler, Morehead State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Xavier and Horizon League rival Youngstown State.
