CHICAGO – The UIC men’s tennis team will travel to Rockford to compete against Northern Illinois and Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday (Jan. 23). Competition against NIU is set to begin at 11 am and play against Whitewater will start at 7 pm.
The Flames (0-2) look to bounce back after being defeated by Western Michigan, 6-1, in Kalamazoo on Monday. At No. 6 singles, Mitch Granger won in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) while Isaac Lloveras and Louis Theodor competed in the No. 1 doubles spot and won 7-6 (7-4).
The last time UIC played NIU was in 2012 when the Flames fell 5-0. In the Division III rankings, Whitewater entered the spring season with a No. 25 national ranking and a No. 7 placement in the Central Region.
