CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team (2-6) will host the IPFW Mastodons (4-4) at the Hinsdale Racquet Club on Saturday (Feb. 21). The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
The last time these two teams met (Jan. 25, 2014), the Flames fell to the Mastodons by a 6-1 final. Carl Hedstrom took his match against Andres Cobos to three sets but ultimately fell 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Isaac Lloveras also pushed his match against Gerald Guell at No. 4 to three sets, but fell 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. In doubles, Eric Pontow teamed up with Lloveras and the pair dropped their match at No. 3, 6-5 (8-6).
The Flames dropped their matches against Southern Illinois and Marquette last weekend. Louis Theodor had an outstanding weekend winning two three-set wins. Mitch Granger also defeated his opponent to collect the Flames' second win against Marquette.
Granger leads UIC with five wins in dual play and Theodor is second with four victories. Theodor has won three consecutive singles matches overall.
